Maryann J. Farhat

Maryann J. Farhat is a partner in our Jacksonville office who brings a wealth of expertise in complex business and real estate matters.

Mrs. Farhat’s practice is rooted in representing business owners, real estate developers, home builders, investors, and individuals in civil litigation and transactional matters. Her work spans contract negotiations and disputes, property disputes, construction defects, and title insurance claims.

Her practice also includes representing investors and developers in commercial real estate matters, including the acquisition and sale of undeveloped and developed properties, complex contract structuring and negotiation, title and survey analysis, and due diligence, bringing valuable perspective to her transactional work, shaped by her extensive experience in litigation.

Mrs. Farhat’s real estate practice extends to subdivision permitting, entitlements, and platting, including negotiating public and private easements, mutual use and development agreements, and restrictive covenants. She represents developers in connection with CDD bond issuances and related agreements, and routinely prepares and negotiates documentation for developer lot sale programs. Her experience includes both borrower representation in institutional and private financing transactions, as well as other complex real property matters.

Respected for her principled approach and strong client advocacy, Mrs. Farhat uses her knowledge, experience, and passion for helping others to zealously advocate for her clients. She is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Florida, and in Washington, D.C.

Her legal career began at Florida’s largest civil defense firm, but her performance, business acumen and drive to create a broader impact quickly led her to become Managing Partner of a respected business, real estate, and estate planning law firm in Jacksonville.

Beyond her professional achievements, Mrs. Farhat is dedicated to giving back to her community. She actively supports several charities, including the local chapters of the American Cancer Society and Best Buddies, and collaborates with the local legal aid society, offering her expertise to support low-income families in need of legal assistance.

Mrs. Farhat earned her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law, following a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Central Florida. During her studies, she expanded her legal knowledge internationally, including studying Comparative Trial Advocacy at Oxford University in England. Her contributions to the legal field are also recognized in several publications by Charles H. Rose, III, including the acclaimed Fundamental Trial Advocacy, 3rd Edition.

Outside of her legal practice, Mrs. Farhat enjoys listening to live music, attending football games, traveling with her husband and spending quality time with family and friends.
